1. Video: a minute of tongue close-ups and mouthwash spit tests (56 days, the longest-running ad here)
“What if 30s a day was all it took?”
- Structure
- A 0:59 cut of many people filming themselves on their phones, with spoken captions: a man opens wide to show his tongue and tonsils as “What if 30s a” / “day was all it took?” appears → a second man shows a coated tongue (“What if that morning…”) → a woman brushing, as the captions say brushing alone isn't enough → iD Stain Whitening Mouthwash poured into a cup → close-ups of dark residue spat onto a tissue and into a sink → a lab, then a dentist in scrubs (“Dr R. Wijey (Dentist)”) holding the bottle → more people swishing, spitting into glasses, comparing two glasses at a tap and smelling their own breath, with on-screen notes such as “This is a dramatisation & doesn't represent product performance” → “Links below”. The headline is “Gunk Removing Mouthwash 🫣😨”, and the copy opens “Did you see that?! 😱”, then “Standard Mouthwash? A lot take one approach. 🙃 iD Stain Whitening Mouthwash takes THREE 😳”.
- Why it works
- The opener asks for 30 seconds a day, a cost so small that the viewer keeps watching to find out what for. Then it shows what most mouthwash ads leave out: the gunk, up close, from many different people, which is hard to look away from and doubles as proof. The dentist in the middle answers “is this real?” before the viewer gets to ask. A second cut with the same copy, a street interview, has run 54 days.
- Make it yours
- Open by asking for a small, exact amount of time (“What if 30 seconds a day…”) and show the problem on a real person in the same second.
- Cut between several people using the product and showing the result on camera, add one expert, and end on the product.
- Put your product in this winning ad: paste your product link, and keep the 30-second opener, the fast cuts and the close-ups, with your product in every shot.
