Is the Meta Ad Library free to use?
By Denzel Geng · Updated October 30, 2026
Yes. The Meta Ad Library is free and open to anyone at facebook.com/ads/library, with no Facebook login or ad account needed. It shows every ad currently running on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads in the country you pick, with each ad's start date, platforms, versions and landing page, but not its spend or sales.
What you can see, and what you can't
| On each product ad | Shown? | Where, or what instead |
|---|---|---|
| The creative and the ad copy | Yes | Every ad running now in the country you pick, under the All ads category |
| Start date | Yes | "Started running on"; subtract it from today for days live |
| Platforms | Yes | Icons for Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads and Audience Network |
| Versions | Yes | "N ads use this creative and text" counts the separate ads the brand set up |
| Landing page | Yes | The button and the link under the creative |
| Reach | EU and UK only | Meta discloses reach for ads delivered in the EU and UK |
| Spend and sales | No | Spend is published only for social-issue, election and political ads |
| Ads that have stopped | EU and UK only | Kept for a year if they ran there; elsewhere they drop out, so save what you find |

A real example: what a UK ad shows
Carpe
Video · 0:19 · wrong-store warning
“Do not buy this on Amazon.”
Ran 100 days, Apr 1 to Jul 10, 2026; 576,305 UK reach.
Because Carpe delivered this antiperspirant ad in the UK, the Library lists its reach, 576,305 UK accounts, on top of the start date, platforms and versions. Compare Brooklinen's US pillow ad, live 78 days by September 24, 2026: US delivery, so no reach figure at all. If you sell in the UK or EU, the reach number is one more public signal of which ads a brand is putting money behind.
How to use it in five minutes
- 1
Pick the country and All ads
Open the Ad Library, set the country to where your customers are, and choose All ads; the other categories are for political, housing, employment and financial ads.
- 2
Search a product word or a brand
Pick the exact-phrase option for a category word, or choose a competitor's Page from the Advertisers list to see everything it runs.
- 3
Keep the ads that have lasted
Filter Impressions by date to end 30 or more days ago. An ad still live after a month, in more than one version, is one the brand keeps paying for: that's what's winning.

No. You don't need to log in or have an ad account; open facebook.com/ads/library, pick a country and search.
No, not for product ads. Meta publishes spend only for ads about social issues, elections or politics. The closest public signals are how long an ad has run, how many ads use the same creative and, for EU and UK delivery, its reach.
Only some. Product ads show while they're running; once an ad stops it drops out, unless it ran in the EU or UK, where Meta keeps it for a year. Save the ads you want as you find them.
